
| The professional team at the Traffic Injury Research Foundation (TIRF) has a unique blend of research and technical expertise, gained through decades of work in traffic safety. The senior staff has over 60 years experience in the field and are internationally recognized experts in research, evaluation, program and policy development, and knowledge transfer.
Staff experience: experimental and epidemiological research; methodology and quantitative data analysis; observational studies; roadside surveys; surveys of knowledge and attitudes; program and policy development, implementation and evaluation; crash analysis and causal assessment; and data base design, construction and management. TIRF has become a world leader in research, evaluation, program and policy development, and knowledge transfer in many areas: from strategies to address impaired drivers and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the criminal justice system to programs to protect young and novice drivers, from driver licensing and improvement to driver aging and deficits, from protecting vulnerable road users and motorcyclists to training and licensing commercial operators. TIRF staff is also engaged in a range of contemporary issues such as speeding, aggressive driving, fatigue and distraction. |
